Isabelle Allen of Wade, a senior at Washburn District High School, has been selected to receive the 2025 Principal's Award, Principal Lawrence Worcester announced today.  The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals' Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior's academic achievement and citizenship.

“Throughout her years at Washburn District High School, Isabelle has distinguished herself through her academic excellence as an honor roll student and secretary for our National Honor Society, Principal Worcester noted. “She is a leader in our school as Class President, Varsity Club Vice President, Yearbook Editor, and she is also a captain for our soccer and basketball teams. Isabelle is a great student, a great leader and an outstanding role model in our school who is very deserving of this award.”

Isabelle, along with Mr. Worcester, the other award winners and their principals will attend an Honors Luncheon at Jeff’s Catering in Bangor on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 12:30 p.m.

The Honors Luncheon recognizes these outstanding students with the presentation of an individual plaque and the awarding of ten $1,000 scholarships in the names of former Maine principals and MPA Executive Directors:  Horace O. McGowan, Richard W. Tyler, and Richard A. Durost.

The Principal's Award is presented in more than 100 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the MPA, the professional association which represents Maine's school administrators.
